Who Will Stand for Her Land?

BY Tenure Advisory

As Uganda heads into the 2026 presidential elections, women’s land rights must stand at the center of the national agenda. Tenure Advisory was commissioned by UCOBAC under the Stand for Her Land campaign in Uganda to analyze the election manifestos of four presidential candidates, resulting in the publication “Who Will Stand for Her Land?”.

This report critically examines candidates’ commitments to women’s land rights, highlighting where manifestos promise progress, where gaps persist, and why financial commitments and enforceable mechanisms are essential to move beyond rhetoric. The report challenges aspiring leaders to ensure that women’s land rights are not sidelined in Uganda’s electoral and political processes.
